Canada is the second largest country in world and all that land space is compricanadased of ten provinces, each of which offers a multitude of reasons to buy there. Today we will learn the names of each province and also learn a little about the largest city to be found in each one and perhaps give potential buyers a place to start their search.

1. Ontario, is home to the city of Toronto with it’s population of almost 13 million people. Located on the north-western shore of Lake Ontario, it’s motto is, “Our diversity is our Strength.” The people here are friendly, tolerant of cultural diversity, and the crime rate is low for such a large city. Toronto offers much too many in the form of employment, clean living environment and standard of living.

2. Quebec’s largest city is Montreal. Montreal is smaller than Toronto and home to approximately 8 million people. Like Toronto, there are many opportunities for employment here. Not as culturally diverse perhaps as French is spoken here and that is second only to Paris. Montreal loves it’s Ice Hockey and they are very good at it.

3. Nova Scotia boasts Halifax as it’s largest city and capitol as well. There are over 200 rural and urban communities that make up Halifax. Government services and the Port of Halifax are the biggest employers. Population is dense in the urban center and grows sparse in the outlying rural areas. Many cultural activities can be found here and a large majority of the people have post-secondary educations.

4. New Brunswick’s largest city is Saint John and Saint John is also the oldest incorporated city in Canada. Saint John is home to numerous churches and has an abundance malls as well. The Port of Saint John is an important economic lifeline, as are businesses dedicated to generation of electricity, telecommunications, and healthcare.

5. In Manitoba, Winnipeg can be found. Winnipeg, being the capitol, is the hub of all activity in that province. Over one-half of Manitoba’s population can be found right

here. Downtown Winnipeg is home to the Winnipeg Walkway which links many area businesses and attractions by the use of an elevated skywalk.

6. British Columbia’s main city is Vancouver. Vancouver is known for it’s quality of living, employment opportunities, and has been named on more than one occasion as one of the three most livable cities in the world.

7. Prince Edward Island’s leading city is Charlottetown. Major employers here are government entities and educational facilities. Summer tourism also helps to boost the economy as well. Charlottetown is a smaller city with quaint character and many pleasing attributes.

8. Saskatchewan Province is where the city of Saskatoon is located. Saskatoon is a large, diverse city with many thriving industries. This city is progressive and has much to offer potential buyers.

9. Alberta is home to the well known city of Calgary. Calgary has hosted more winter sporting events than the television program Wide World of Sports can shake a stick at. This city has places to go and things to do, which is one reason this area is so popular. Culturally and economically diverse, Calgary has learned how to change with the times.

10. Newfoundland and Labrador touts the city of St. John, not to be confused with the Saint John of New Brunswick Province. St. John is the oldest English-founded city in North America. The export and service industries along with newly discovered oil fields are responsible for the rapid growth of this area in both population, as well as commercial endeavors.

Canada is a vibrant, diverse country that is constantly growing and evolving to meet the demands of the times. With so many areas to choose from, deciding the best place to buy real estate will take thorough investigation but it’s such an amazing place that you won’t mind at all.
